Panasonic - Lumix GH6 +ob.12-60 Leica f/2.8-4
A new creative dimension
A pioneer in the Micro Four Thirds class, Panasonic's Lumix GH6 mirrorless camera is a little beast that challenges full-frame rivals, a powerful hybrid addition to the video-centric GH series that offers cutting-edge technology to both filmmakers and photographers. The improved processing power of the Venus Engine enables quick sensor readings for internal recording of 5.7K 30p in Apple ProRes 422 HQ, FHD 300p, and 100MP handheld photos. The GH6 exposes correctly over 13+ stops, features sensor-shift stabilization in the body, and can be combined with VariCam footage with its pre-installed V-log image profile. Panasonic has created a compact flagship camera that professionals can choose for photos, as the main workhorse for independent cinema or as an extra angle for feature film productions.
Leading-edge imaging platform
25MP high resolution sensor, 5.7K video
Redesigned from the ground up, this sensor enhances its GH series predecessors with new silicone and software. It has an improved dynamic range of over 13 stops despite the small cell size due to the increased number of pixels on the Micro Four Thirds sensor. Use a Type B CFexpress card to internally record 5.7K Apple Pro Res 422 HQ or the SD slot to capture 10-bit 4K120p footage. The ability to record high bitrates and unlimited recording time set this camera apart from its predecessors.
For maximum sharpness, the sensor is not hindered by a low pass filter; smooths out any moiré effects thanks to the intelligent processing of details by its updated Venus engine. Building on next-generation image stabilization, this camera synthesizes eight distinct images into a single 100MP image, all without the need for a tripod.
Lightning sensor reading
The Venus Engine has twice the power of previous generations, allowing continuous shooting at 75 fps or slow motion footage at 300 fps with variable frame rate (VFR). The Venus Engine's fast sensor readout limits shutter distortion to keep skyscrapers vertical when shooting from a car mount or for capturing slow-motion footage of fast-moving objects.
Stabilization: In-Body, Sensor-Shift
5-axis image stabilization with sensor shift inside the body is achieved with a high-precision gyro sensor and stabilization algorithm. At all focal lengths, this stabilization technology offers 7.5 stops of deviation from shutter speed dictated by the reciprocal rule.
Its body-integrated sensor shift technology works perfectly with the optical image stabilization of Panasonic lenses. Electronic stabilization is available for those who accept the slight cropping effect it requires. Boost IS mode is the most extreme form of electronic stabilization, simulating a shot stuck on a tripod.
Highlights AF and AE
Autofocus processing speed has been tripled, powering the 315-area Detection Contrast Detection Depth-from-defocus (DFD) system. The updated algorithm calculates the distance to the subject and predicts whether it is moving towards or away from the camera, anticipating where it will be for the next frame. It works by collecting data from different focal planes, then creating a 3D depth map in real time.
The subject tracking focus system also supports face, eye, head, body and animal recognition. Autofocus will automatically switch between body and face recognition, then eye recognition as the subject approaches the camera for better sharpness.
The focus limiter, manual focus assist and an upgraded joystick allow for fast and precise focusing. Zone AF is a less obstructive overlay and face priority in multiple metering prevents unwanted exposure changes.
Professional-grade high-bitrate video
Unlimited latitude
5.7K 30p recording is supported in the high-quality Apple ProRes 422 HQ / ProRes 422 codecs for visually lossless, high bitrate movies suitable for intense post-production manipulation.
The GH6 supports unlimited recording up to DCI 4K at 60p with 4: 2: 2 10-bit sampling for pristine detail and depth in color gradation.
Preserve over 13 detail stops
Shooting in V-Log and V-Gamut will give you 12+ stops of dynamic range, which can be increased to 13+ stops by activating its analog dual-gain circuitry with Dynamic Range Boost mode. A circuit that uses ISO 800 absorbs the richness of the
